The project was framed around how a public education centre could settle among protected historic buildings. The decision was to turn the gaps between the monuments into a public landscape of learning — woven with light canopies rather than competing with them.

The project is conceived as a public education centre set among protected historic buildings in Edirne's historic fabric. Rather than competing with the surrounding monuments, the design turns the gaps between them into a public landscape of learning.

Organic gridshell structures linking the historic buildings cover the courtyards as light, transparent canopies — establishing a contemporary yet respectful language between old and new. Pink-accented pedestrian routes guide the visitor along a fluid path between the building clusters.

The north, south, east and west elevations bring the silhouette of the mosque and historic buildings together with the organic form of the gridshell canopies in a single frame. The result is an education campus that adds a new public layer without disrupting the historic fabric.
